Unsung Heroes

Printed collateral materials are brand workhorses — stuff that every establishment needs, like supporting characters. Here are a few items Mark Ridley’s could make better use of.

First up, their exterior corner wall is prime real estate for eye-level promotions geared at people passing by on foot, bikes or cars. The showcased talent typically supplies their own marketing images, sometimes with copy and sometimes just a portrait shot. So I’d propose creating a standard frame that could accommodate either, and if needed the inner frame could be adjusted. From a production perspective, these could be printed off digitally in small batches or as one-offs.

The club is very dark inside and the menu is brief. Table tents would be more manageable for patrons and the wait staff. Envision them in florescent orange ink that would glow in the dark. I’d skip the ubiquitous QR codes to keep patrons focused on the show on the stage instead of distracted by their devices.

Menus

I love the old school charm of coasters - and this is a drinking establishment so bring on something attractive to avoid soppy table tops. It might be fun to add a joke or pithy comedic quote to the back side, but I don’t see patrons turning them over and reading them often enough to justify the extra print costs.
